Rob Schmitt is an American journalist and anchor who currently serves as the main presenter and host of an evening news show on Newsmax TV. Previously, Schmitt worked as a Fox & Friends co-host and anchor on Fox News until August 2020.
Schmitt attended the Emie Pyle School of Journalism in Indiana University, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in broadcast journalism. He also worked at the school’s campus media station, where he honed his journalism skills.

Rob joined WPLG-TV, the ABC affiliate based in Miami, Florida, as a weekend news anchor. However, he was arrested in January 2009 for alleged domestic violence. Schmitt then posted a $1,500 bond and was released on his own. After two months, the case was dropped citing lack of sufficient evidence.
In 2011, Rob joined CBS Los Angeles as an anchor and in 2013 he became an anchor for WNBC-TV in New York. In 2016, he moved to Fox News, where he served as a Fox Nation co-host with Carley Shimkus and worked as a Fox & Friends First co-anchor with Jillian Mele.
However, in August 2020, Schmitt stopped appearing on Fox and began appearing in Newsmax content. He hosts his own show called Rob Schmitt Tonight, which premiered on Newsmax on December 21, 2020.
