Success is easy to measure, especially in the world of music, which can transcend geographical boundaries and sometimes even continents. Rufus du Sol is one of those bands whose music successfully crosses borders. Although they are originally an Australian band, their music is appreciated on a global level. This is important for them as most of the world listens to music that comes mostly from America or the United Kingdom. The fact that Rufus du Sol has been able to attract a huge number of fans from all over the world is proof of how talented they are.
Rufus Du Sol Bio
The origins of the band can be traced back to a rainy day in 2010 when the three members Jon George, Tyrone Lindqvist, and James Hunt were on vacation in the beach town of Byron Bay and decided to write a song. Realizing how great they sounded together, they decided to release two EPs. The first of the two EPs were released on January 1st, 2011.

The EP had a slight success, two of the songs entered the hype machine charts and reached top positions 8 and 13, these two songs are Paris Collides and We Left. It was precisely from this EP that they were nominated for an award at the Vimeo Awards in the category of the best music video for the song We Left. Their next work was released the following year with equal success.
Everything To Know About The Band
Music Career
After their first EP of 2011, the band released their first album Atlas on August 9, 2013. In less than three weeks after its release, the album was already at the top of the Australian album charts. This was followed by a second album, Bloom in 2016, and a third Solace two years after Bloom on October 19, 2018. The first reached number one on the album charts, while the second climbed to number two.
As a band, Rufus Du Sol has been nominated for more than ten awards, and of that number, they have won four. The first award they received was for their album Atlas, in the Best Independent Dance Electronica Album category of the AIR Awards. In 2015, they took home the award for Best Dance Release for the song You Were Right, which was presented at the ARIA Music Awards. Two years later, in 2017, they won the Record of the year award for the single Innerbloom from the Electronic Music Awards.
Electronic music performed live can rarely sound as great as the original recording, but Rufus du Sol has found a way to incorporate elements of live music into their recordings; this has helped in the live playback of these songs. The ability to do this earned them the “Live Act of the Year” award in 2017, a distinction awarded by the Electronic Music Awards.

Composition of the Band
The band consists of three men and has the same members since its foundation in 2010 until today. They are Jon George, Tyrone Lindqvist, and James Hunt. George plays the keyboard, Tyrone is on guitar and lead vocalist, and James plays drums.
In 2016 the band had to move to Los Angeles because their career required a move to the United States of America, and at that time they made the transition from the name RUFUS to Rufus du Sol. This change had to take place because Rufus’s name was already protected in the USA.
The band members were able to express their displeasure with the decision in a Facebook posting announcing the name change. Their move to the USA required and influenced their decision to work with other musicians. The idea was alien to them because they worked wonderfully together as a group and felt that a fourth person could tip the balance.
However, they did manage to work with Jason Evigan, who worked on some of the tracks on the Solace album. In addition to their many successes in the USA, the band also had several opportunities to decorate the stage at Coachella.
