Sachin Bansal is a famous Indian businessman who is best known as the founder of Flipkart. He is currently the managing director of Navi Group, a financial services company. Previously, Bansal was CEO and President of Flipkart for over 11 years. In 2015, Bansal was named the 86th richest person in India by Forbes India. Earlier, he was born and raised in Chandigarh, India.
Bansal completed his primary and secondary education at a local school in his hometown. He later enrolled at the Indian Institute of Technology Dehli where he majored in computer engineering. Shortly after graduating from college, Sachin worked at Techspan for a few months before joining Amazon Web Services. There he served as a senior software engineer. After that, he resigned from his job to open his own in 2007.
Sachin, along with his friend Binny Bansal, co-founded and opened an online bookstore called Flipkart with their own savings. They started operating the store at Koramangala in Bangalore. Thereafter, he held the role of CEO until 2016. In 2015, Bansal was named the 86th richest person in India by Forbes India. He later held the position of Executive Chairman. In late 2018, he founded BACO Acquisitions Private Limited, a venture focused on building and acquiring technology-driven businesses across a range of vertical industries.
In addition, he and his co-founder were included in the list of the 100 most influential people in the world by Time magazine. Furthermore, Sachin and his friend were also among the top 50 most powerful people listed in India. At the end of 2018, Sachin left Flipkart and joined Navi Technologies Company, where he later took on the role of Managing Director.
