Born in the western suburbs and raised in central Illinois, Schulze is thrilled to be working in Chicago and living on the north side with her family. She is a proud graduate of the University of Illinois, where she majored in journalism.
After her graduation, she began her career at WICD and WCIA in Champaign. She then moved to WDEF-TV in Chattanooga, where she worked as a lead anchor. After that, she moved to the Pacific Northwest as Eastside Office Chief and weekend anchor for KIRON-7. She also worked as a reporter and morning anchor on WESH-TV in Orlando.
