Sam Rockwell is an American actor known for playing a wide variety of roles in independent films such as Galaxy Quest (1999), Moon (2009), The Green Mile (1999), Lawn Dogs (1997), Iron Man 2 (2010) and Richard Jewel (2019). Sam also won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor for his role in a 2017 film called Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri. He then gained more fame for playing the role of Bob Fosse in a biopic called Fosse\Verdon. This particular role earned him a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Limited TV Series.
Rockwell was born and raised by Native American parents living in the small town of Daly City, California. He grew up as the only child of a 1970s actor named Pete Rockwell. Rockwell was also raised by his father alone after his parents divorced.
Rockwell finished high school at the San Francisco School of Arts, where he met Aisha Tyler and Margaret Cho.
