Samantha Bee has received much praise from critics in her career as a comedian, writer, political commentator, and TV presenter. The Canadian-American television correspondent came to the spotlight as a regular correspondent on the Daily Show with Jon Stewart, where she spent a record 12 years.
After leaving The Daily Show in 2015, the multi-talented media personality moved on to her own show Full Frontal with Samantha Bee. There could not have been a better time to launch the show than her debut on February 8, 2016, in the run-up to the extremely heated US presidential election in 2016. Since Samantha Bee is no stranger to the political terrain of the United States, she immediately took part in the conversation, engaging with the political establishment in the most brutal and outspoken manner under the guise of witty humor.
Full Frontal with Samantha Bee was a huge success with viewers and critics alike, as she was nominated for a Primetime Emmy Award in her first season. The series also received 4 Emmy nominations in 2017, including a win for the episode “Not the White House Correspondents’ Dinner”.

After her college education at the George Brown Theatre School in Toronto, the comedienne founded an all-female sketch-comedy troupe called “The Atomic Fireballs”. Bee performed with the group for some time without pay, while working as a waitress to pay her bills. Although she didn’t earn any money while performing with the group, she received the necessary training to take her place in the Daily Show in due course.
Samantha Bee’s Husband
Samantha Bee is married to the Canadian actor and producer Jason Jones. The two met in 1996 as members of a theatre company during a stage production. On October 3, 2001, they entered into a marriage and their relationship has remained unshaken ever since. Together they have 3 children, 2 daughters, and a son.
The couple welcomed their first child, a daughter named Piper Bee-Jones, in January 2006 and their second child, a son named Fletcher Bee-Jones, on 20 June 2008. In October 2010 they welcomed their third child, a daughter named Ripley Bee-Jones.
Given that the couple met at work, it is not surprising that they continue to work together on several other projects. Like his wife, Jason Jones joined The Daily Show as a freelance correspondent in 2005. In the absence of then-presenter Jon Stewart, the couple hosted an episode of The Daily Show on October 7, 2014.
In 2016, Samantha and Jason jointly created the sitcom The Detour, which premiered on TBS on April 11, 2016. Jason Jones is also the executive producer of the Emmy-nominated political satire show Full Frontal of his wife with Samantha Bee.
