Sarah Colby Spain is an American sports reporter. Spain works as an columnist, radio host, television personality, and SportsCenter reporter for ESPN. Previously, she worked on the WGN-TV show alongside Ted Brunson and Brittney Payton as the show’s co-host.

Spain was born in Cleveland, Ohio and raised in Lake Forest, Illinois. She went to school at Lake Forest High School, where she was the captain of her track, field hockey, and basketball teams. Later, Sarah attended Cornell University where she majored in English. Sarah was also a heptathlete for the Cornell Big Red field and track team.

Sarah started her career in journalism working at various stations such as, Fox Sports Net and She also worked as a sideline reporter for the Big Ten Network and hosted the Coors Light Fantasy Players Minute. Spain also appeared on the WGN-TV show alongside Ted Brunson and Brittney Payton as the show’s co-host. She joined ESPN 1000 in Chicago in 2010. She was hired as a writer for the same year.

ESPN announced in January 2015 that it was launching a radio show called Spain & Prim, which includes Spain and anchor Prim Siripipat as co-hosts. Subsequently, Spain along with Kate Fagan and Jane McManus started a radio show called ‘The Trifecta’.
