Sean Lewis is an American journalist who currently works as an anchor and reporter for the WGN Weekend Am. He anchors WGN Saturday Morning News and WGN Sunday Morning News with the expansion of weekend news since he joined the station in September 2016.
Ahead of the weekend anchor role, Lewis reported to WGN News on Five and WGN News Nine during the week. He joined CLTV in March 2007 and then WGN-Tv in June 2008. Born in Kenosha, Lewis graduated from University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.
Lewis returned home to Chicago after more than two years as a weekend anchor on WWBT-TV, the NBC affiliate in Richmond, Virginia. He grew up watching the Chicago news. However, he lived and worked throughout the Midwest, reporting in Fargo, North Dakota, Madison Wisconsin and Rockford, Illinois.
In Rockford, Lewis served on the board of the AIDS Care Network and was named Best Writer by the Illinois Associated Press. In 2009, the Associated Press recognized him for his special report on the journalism students who were first at the scene of the NIU shootings.
