Seth Meyers biography
Seth Meyers is an American comedian, political commentator, writer, television host, actor, and producer. He is the current host of Late Night with Seth Meyers, a late-night television talk show that is broadcast on NBC.
Previously, he worked as a screenwriter and lead actor for the popular TV show Saturday Night Live. This program aired from 2001-14. Other projects that have elevated him to stardom are; New Year’s Eve (2011) and Documentary Now! (2015).
Seth was born in Illinois. However, he was raised in diverse environments across the country. When he was in college, he discovered his passion for comedy and joined Boom Chicago, an “improv” comedy troupe. He began touring Europe and, without time, gained a lot of attention. His time and credit peaked during a show in Chicago when he attracted the attention of the producers of “Saturday Night Live”.
He soon became a regular member of the show, attracting international fame. After presenting several comedy stints on TV, Seth got the chance to host the Late Night With Seth Meyers Show. He also appeared in ‘Journey to the Center of the Earth’, ‘Spring Breakdown’ and ‘New Year’s Eve’.

After graduating from university, Seth left in search of a steady job as a comedian. He met ‘Boom Chicago’, an Amsterdam-based “improv” comedy troupe. Seth and his brother Josh joined the troupe and worked with them for the next few years.
While in Amsterdam, Seth combined “improvisation” with other endeavors. He collaborated with comedian Jill Benjamin and staged a duo show called ‘Pick-Ups and Hiccups’. The show was a big hit in Amsterdam and was filmed five nights a week at various theaters across the city.
All along, Seth was a huge fan of “Saturday Night Live,” which was one of the longest-running variety TV shows in the United States. However, he didn’t know how to break into it. His show with Jill Benjamin took him and took him to several cities in Europe. On one such occasion, he hosted the show in Chicago, where he attracted the attention of the “Saturday Night Live” producers.
After his performance, he was cast in an interview in New York. Seth reported to New York and was hired for the show.
