Shaun Chaiyabhat is an American journalist who currently works as an anchor and reporter for WCBV5 News, as well as a general reporter for WCBV Channel 5, the Boston News Leader. He co-anchores the weekend evening news with Nathalie Pozo.
After his education, he is a proud graduate of University of Illinois in Urbana-Champaign with a degree in journalism. Later, Chaiyabhat obtained a Masters in Public Relations Reporting from University of Illinois in Springfield. Chaiyabhat began his career in Illinois in 2000. At that time he worked behind the scenes before appearing on air on WICS-TV and later moving to WCIA-TV.
In 2006, he went to work for WREG-TV in Memphis, Tennessee. He later joined the NewsCenter 5 team in 2016 after leaving WKMG-TV in Orlando, Florida. He currently broadcasts New England’s hottest stories, “day and night.” His reporting style ranges from lighthearted and uplifting to crime and politics. He tells his stories with compassion, which is a mindset he maintains as he relates.
