Shini Somara is a British mechanical engineer, media presenter, producer and author famous for presenting TechKnow on Al Jazeera America. She is also known for reporting on various BBC programmes, including The Health Show. Somara has also hosted two educational physics and engineering video series on the Crash Course YouTube channel for PBS Digital Studios. Furthermore, she has been a presenter for BBC America, Sky Atlantic, BBC1, BBC2 and PBS.
Born and raised in London, she attended the Henrietta Barnett School. She later started her mechanical engineering career at Brunel University London, completing her Bachelor of Engineering.
