As a professional American basketball player, Sindarius Thornwell proved his worth with the South Carolina Gamecocks at the University of South Carolina before joining the NBA league. In addition to his biography, this article provides details of his professional achievements, body measurements, and family.

Sindarius Thornwell Bio

Sindarius was born on November 23, 1994, in South Carolina. He grew up in Lancaster, a small town in South Carolina, about 40 miles south of Charlotte, with a population of about 10,000 people.

His athletic activity dates back to his school days. Records show that he was a student at Lancaster High School, where he spent three years before moving to Oak Hill Academy, where he completed his high school education. It is said that Sindarius Thornwell was first a quarterback until he gave up American football in ninth grade because he believed there was no future for it.

When he played as a senior for the Oak Hill Academy basketball team, Sindarius averaged 3.6 assists, 8.6 rebounds, and 26.8 points per game. He led his team to a record 33-5 and it was only natural that several platforms ranked him as a top candidate.

Although several colleges tried to recruit him after high school, he decided to get involved with the University of South Carolina (he did so to be close to his family) and immediately became a top prospect in the NBA after a successful freshman season, in which he was nominated for the SEC All-Freshman Team 2014.

He also proved himself through his impressive goalkeeping and exceptional defensive maneuver. Thornwell earned the honor of the All-SEC First Team and was named SEC Player of the Year in his senior year. Given the things he achieved with the South Carolina Gamecocks, there was no doubt he would do well in the NBA.

Sindarius Thornwell signed up for the 2017 NBA Draft and was drafted in the second round as the 48th general choice of the Milwaukee Bucks. His draft rights, however, were sold to the Los Angeles Clippers, who had scouted for him. Finally, he made a deal with the LA Clippers and fought for the team as a guard.

Height, Weight, and Body Measurements

With a wingspan of just under 6’5″, a remarkable wingspan of 6’10, and a bodyweight of 215 lb, Thornwell has the adaptability to thrive in a variety of positions. When it comes to the right body characteristics for the sport, Sindarius Thornwell leaves nothing to be desired.

In fact, it is believed that he is one of the players with the best stature for the guard position. Thanks to his flexibility and strength, he now has the opportunity to put up a strong defense and to distinguish himself as a good scorer. For this reason, he is called the “scoring defensive guard” by many.

It is no secret that his family is a great support and the driving force behind the successes Sindarius has enjoyed as a basketball player. In several reports, it is reported that his brother Tay masters the game like a coach. It is claimed that he has not only been a source of support for Sindarius but also helped him improve his game during his basketball college years.

Another family member who helped shape the NBA star’s career was his uncle, Dajuan Thornwell. Sadly, the man died in September 2015 at the age of 42. We learned that Dajuan Sindarius persuaded Sindarius to transfer to the prestigious Oak Hill Academy in Virginia and that he also convinced him to get involved in South Carolina despite the progress made by Florida, Ohio State, and Syracuse.

One of the reasons the basketball player settled in South Carolina was because he wanted to be where he was known and loved; he wanted his family to be able to watch his games. It would not be wrong to say that his family meant everything to him. They were always around him and were with him when it became known that he was being drafted into the NBA.
