Somara Theodore is an Emmy Award-winning American meteorologist who currently works as a meteorologist for NBC4 in Washington. She broadcasts her predictions during the weekends on NBC4 Channel News and 103.5 WTOP radio. Theodore joined NBC4 News Channel in 2016 from ABC-Affiliated WEWS-TV in Cleveland, Ohio. While there, she worked on The Good Morning Cleveland Newscast as a morning weather forecaster.
Somara attended and graduated from Penna State University in Pennsylvania with a bachelor’s degree in meteorology and a major in energy and fiance business. She also holds a major in Mandarin from Penna State University. While in college, she conducted research with NOAA’s Central for Atmospheric Science at Howard University and participated in a field study where she served as a Field Researcher in Shanghai, Beijing, China.
