Stan Stovall is an American journalist who has currently served as an anchor for WABL-TV 11 News since April 2003, when he returned to the station as a co-anchor for the weekend edition of 11 News Today. Stovall also worked at the station from 1978 to 1983, serving as the main anchor for the nightly weekday editions of the 11 News. He stands out as one of the most recognizable faces in the Baltimore television market, having worked for over 36 years in the field of journalism.
After his return to WABL-Tv 11 News, Stan has had several promotions. In August 2003, he was promoted to co-anchor the weekday editions of 11 News Today and 11 News at Noon. Later, Stan was promoted again to co-anchor of 11 News at 5pm from October 2003. This was in addition to his morning duties. In December 2013, he landed another promotion to co-anchor of 11 News at 6:00 pm and 11:00 pm.
Prior to joining WABL-TV 11, Stovall worked as the main nightly news anchor at WMAR-Tv in Baltimore for 13 years.

Notably, in 1988 Stan spent nearly six months in Southeast Asia as a freelance producer, reporter and cameraman covering a civil war in Myanmar. At that time, he spent half of his coverage in the Burma jungle combat zones and the rest working in cities such as Bangkok, Manila, Seoul and Tokyo.
His interest in international politics and investigative reporting led him to travel through Central America during the Contra War in Nicaragua. He also reported on Russia and Ukraine before the fall of communism in the former Soviet Union. Notably, Stovall also reported from Vatican City in Rome to the elevation of Archbishop of Baltimore William Keeler to the College of Cardinals.
His main hobby is physical fitness, having been a former competitive powerlifter and bodybuilder for over 30 years. He is a four-time State Powerlifting Champion and holder of previous Junior Mr. Arizona, Mr. Maryland, Mr. South Atlantic and Mr. Delmarva.
