Steven Fisher biography
Steven Fisher is an American Award-winning journalist who currently serves as a reporter during Lehigh Valley Week for NBC10 News. Fisher joined NBC10, Philadelphia in July 2017 from WPXI in Pittsburgh, where he worked as a reporter.
Born and raised in Montgomery County, Steven attended West Chester University, where he majored in Communication Studies. Prior to her graduation, Fisher interned at CBS 3 as a News Department intern.
Fisher began his career at KYW-TV in Philadelphia as a production assistant. After spending 8 months at the station, Steven moved to WBOC-TV in Cambridge Maryland, where he served as chief reporter for the Mid Shore Bureau. Later, Steven worked as a general reporter for the WHTM in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, and the WBOC in Salisbury, Maryland.
After spending several years on the latter, Steven joined WPXI in Pittsburgh where he worked as a reporter. It was while working at WPXI when Steven got his current job at NBC10 as a reporter.
Fisher is excited to be working in his hometown. Her favorite part of her journalistic career is having the opportunity to share stories that impact the community.
Steven is a two-time Emmy Award-winning journalist, receiving honors for Outstanding Video Journalist and Outstanding Reporting for a story about a man with autism who created a comic book about an autistic superhero. Additionally, Fisher has been recognized with awards from the Associated Press and the Pennsylvania Association of Broadcasters.
When Steven is not working, he enjoys cheering on all the Philadelphia sports teams, playing the guitar, traveling and spending time with his family, friends and dog Simba.
