Susan Page is an American journalist who currently holds the position of head of USA Today’s Washington Bureau. She has covered six White House administrations and ten presidential elections, interviewing the past nine presidents. Page reported from six continents and is a renowned author of The Matriarch: Barbara Bush and the Making of an American Dynasty, a New York Times bestselling book. She is also a renowned biographer.

Born in Wichita, Kansas, Page joined Northwestern University’s Medill School of Journalism where she was the editor-in-chief of the Daily Northwestern. Upon graduation in 1973, Susan entered the Columbia Graduate School of Journalism for a master’s degree. While at school, she was a Pulitzer Scholar.

However, as a child, Susan had to fight for two career passions; music and journalism. Her interest in music led her to study the oboe in third grade and play it in school orchestras throughout her public school education.

At one time, Page was the editor-in-chief of her high school yearbook, The Hoofbeats. Likewise, she served as a reporter and editor for her high school newspaper, The Stampede. After enriching both passions at school, she found herself in a dilemma about which path to choose. She first considered attending a music school, but then made her final decision to pursue journalism at Northwestern University.
