Susanna Reid is an award-winning English journalist and television presenter. Reid is popular for co-hosting the BBC Breakfast show from 2003 to 2014 and the ITV morning show Good Morning Britain which has been on the air since 2014. She was born and raised in Croydon, London, England.
she went to Croham Hurst School, Croydon High School and St Paul’s Girls’ School in London to study. After graduating from high school, Reid entered the University of Bristol and studied politics, philosophy and law. During her time there, Susanna worked as an editor for the student newspaper, Epigram. In 1991, the newspaper was selected as Best Student Newspaper in The Guardian/NUS student journalism awards. In addition, she holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Broadcast Journalism from the Cardiff School of Journalism.
Susanna began her journalism career at BBC Radio Bristol as a news producer before moving to Radio 5 Live. She later spent two years presenting on BBC News 24 before moving onto the breakfast sofa alongside Bill Turnbull and Charlie Stayt. She used to appear on the Andrew Marr Show and has also appeared in Pointless, Ask Rhod Gilbert and Through the Keyhole.
Reid subsequently took up her duties as lead presenter of the BBC Breakfast weekend show and continued until 2010 when she took on a presenting role on Sunday Morning Live for BBC One. Earlier, she hosted the show’s first two series before returning to the weekend show. In 2012, she began presenting the weekday Breakfast Show with Bill Turnbull and continued through 2014. Additionally, she is a guest on shows like Would I Lie to You?, Pointless, and Chatty Man. Susanna has also received some awards like Best TV Host and Celebrity Personality of the Year at the National Reality TV Awards multiple times. Furthermore, she has appeared in television series such as Loose Women, Lorraine, and Celebrity Juice. As an actress, she has worked as a voice actress in the animated comedy adventure film Trolls in 2016, and in 2018 a guest appearance on the Channel 4 soap opera Hollyoaks. More recently, Susanna has appeared on Celebrity Gogglebox alongside lawyer and TV judge Robert Rinder . In 2022, she interviewed Prime Minister Boris Johnson live on Good Morning Britain.
