Andrew Taggart of the Chainsmokers says he was punched by Atlanta rapper TI after he kissed the rapper on the cheek.
Taggart shared the wild experience on Monday on the Tik Tok account of the encounter, where he reviewed that the episode took place lately as the two posed for a photograph together. The Tik Tok video begins with the caption, “while meeting TI ends badly,” with Taggart explaining how he went astray by abusing the rapper’s boundaries.
“My terrible, TI, it won’t repeat itself… unless?” he says. “TI only in a real sense hit me squarely in the head. We’re in an energy and I was like, I kissed him on the cheek. It was absolutely my problem. Also, he was like, ‘Don’t do that,’ and I was like, ‘Okay,’ and he pushed me away, and I was like, ‘Okay, my terrible.’ So he punched me in the head and I said ‘okay I’m sad’ and he said ‘Okay cool we’re great’. It was the strangest cooperation ever.”
Taggart also has a sense of ownership over the experience, as he admits he is off base to contact the rapper.
“Above all, T.I’s. completely justified here,” continued the “Closer” hitmaker. “I was feeling overly harsh energies, and I kissed TI on the cheek and he slapped me on the head for it. It’s completely fine,” he said.
In the meantime, TI also responded to the viral Tik Tok video while downplaying the video and saying that all was well between him and Taggart.
“Most of all, I love The Chainsmokers, how about we just clear this up,” says TIP.
“I have nothing negative to say. We just needed to deal with a few things, you know what I mean? Also, we handle it. We’ve come to a much better place. I have only beneficial comments about them. Heroes. I won’t describe the situation carefully, but I love The Chainsmokers, man, they make extraordinary music,” TIP added.
The rapper also responded to the remarks via web-based entertainment in an Instagram video where he said the episode was just a minor conflict.
“The way you keep saying I punched someone else, y’all stop it, you know? ‘Because we had a little commotion, you know what I’m saying.’ Oh please, it’s nothing. It was a lot like a motherfucker venturing the line and you’re like, ‘Hey man, you vented that awful line, bet?’ And then he ventured back along the line the legitimate way and everyone progressed with their night. That was all there was to it. It was nothing important,” he added.
TI also welcomed the audience to be visitors on their digital recording and even launched the challenge to join.
“Chainsmokers, I couldn’t imagine anything better than having you on ExpediTIously so we could discuss, you know, your sensational music, and maybe we can put Chainsmokers on ‘Kill the King.’ Don’t kiss the ruler, kill the king. Maybe we can put Chainsmokers on my next project, or maybe I can help them with something they’ve been trying,” the rapper said while joking.
