After an impressive performance as a junior at Martin Luther King High School, Tony Snell went to Westwind Preparatory Academy to complete his senior year. During his stays at both schools, he created a niche for himself on the course and won many hearts with his unique athletic abilities.

Although the Shooting Guard did not start his professional career until 2013, it is as if he has been playing for decades. The player in the Milwaukee Bucks Shirt No. 21 is the son of Sherika Brown, a young American woman who gave birth to him in Watts, California on November 10, 1991. According to the records, Sherika had a basketball player at the age of almost nineteen, followed by his little sister Tonyecia.

As a single mother, Tony’s mother took on several odd jobs to make ends meet. She is said to have worked in places like JCPenney and Walmart and even got a job as a security guard and data entry clerk just to raise money to support her children and put food on the table.

After completing his primary education, Snell enrolled at Martin Luther King High School. His stay at the school lasted from 2008 to 2009, after which his mother sent him to the Westwind Preparatory Academy in Phoenix to complete his studies.

During his time at Martin Luther King High School, he led his school’s basketball team to a 30-3 season together with his teammate Kawhi Leonard, who currently plays for the Toronto Raptors. Under the guidance of coach Tim Sweeney and with the help of his teammates, Tony averaged seven rebounds, fourteen points, three assists per game, and four blocks. In westerly winds, he continued to improve his game and set several records for himself. It is recorded that he averaged 8.8 assists, 1.8 blocks, 10 rebounds, 19.5 points, and 2.7 steals. Interestingly, he crossed paths with Sichuan Blue Whales Shooting Guard Jamaal Franklin in westerly winds.

Tony Snell began his college career in 2010 at the University of New Mexico – after he agreed and signed up to play for the team in November 2009. As a freshman, he represented the New Mexico Lobos Men’s Basketball team in all but one game. After completing his junior year, Snell announced his intention to give up his senior year to participate in the 2013 NBA Draft. As a result, he was selected by the Chicago Bulls for the 20th pick in the first round of the 2013 NBA Draft.

The Shooting Guard session with the Bulls lasted three years (2013 – 2016), after which he was traded to the Milwaukee Bucks in exchange for Michael Carter-Williams on October 17, 2016.

The Watts-born athlete would make his debut for the Bucks on October 29, 2016, the day the team played its second game of the season. He renewed his contract with the franchise with a four-year extension. The contract, signed on July 31, 2017, is reportedly worth $44 million and includes incentives that would increase his total income to $46 million and a player option after the third year.

Tony Snell’s love of basketball was triggered by his mother, who, worried about his future, bought him tapes of famous basketball players like Michael Jordan just to keep him at home and keep him from making friends with neighborhood bad guys.

By the age of seven or eight, the Shooting Guard had become an outstanding basketball player. Despite the peak of his success and the years in the spotlight, Snell puts his family above his career, and although his mother hasn’t shed her protective instincts, Tony still loves the fact that she has his back.
