Before long, Ty realized he could combine his journalistic writing skills with his love of storytelling to start a career in television news.
After successfully receiving his bachelor’s degree in journalism from University of Washington, Steele got his first television job as a multimedia journalist at KVAL in Oregon. Two years later, Ty was promoted to serve as the night anchor on the company’s second season, NBC affiliate KMTR. His next step took him to California, where he became the nightly news anchor for KTXL.
