Biography of Walter Makaula
Walter Makaula is a popular Emmy Award-winning American journalist currently working at KCRA as a weekend night anchor. He is also the weekly reporter who is part of the investigative team at KCRA News. He joined the station in August 2017.
Makaula comes to Northern California from Miami, where he co-hosted the week’s morning news for the CBS-owned and operated station WFOR in Miami, Florida. It has a diverse journalistic environment. His experience ranges from stories about international fugitives on the run to the Hollywood red carpet.
Additionally, Makaula received the Crime Stoppers International Media Award in Calgary Canada for her television news series Hawaii’s Most Wanted. In addition, their reporting and collaboration with federal, municipal and state law enforcement agencies led to the arrest of 12 fugitives.
