Windsor Johnston is an American journalist who has currently worked as an anchor and reporter for NPR since 2011. Johnston writes, produces and delivers hourly national news. Additionally, she occasionally reports breaking news for NPR’s Newsdesk. Prior to joining NPR, Johnston worked as a freelance reporter in Kenya.
In addition to covering news, Windsor is an adjunct professor of journalism at American University. She also taught as an adjunct professor of journalism at Temple University, her former school, between 2004 and 2012.
She brings over 20 years of experience as an anchor and reporter on different news stations including NPR member stations. Between 1995 and 2011, Windsor worked as a presenter for the weekend edition and also as a reporter for WHYY. After working at WHYY, Johnston became the news anchor for Metro Network, where she worked from 2004 to 2008.
