40 Years Old North Vancouver Cyclist Killed- Accident Update: A cyclist from North Vancouver Was Killed  On Monday morning in an accident with a dump truck driver in North Vancouver. The collision’s reason is being investigated.

A cyclist was slain in a collision with a dump truck in North Vancouver on Monday morning.

According to North Vancouver Police, the event happened just before 10:30 a.m. near the intersection of Lonsdale Avenue and 23rd Street.

Officers on their way to another incident noticed the scene near the intersection of Lonsdale Avenue and 23rd Street soon after it happened at 10:30 a.m.

The victim suffered “severe injuries” according to Cst. Mansoor Sahak a spokeswoman for the North Vancouver Police Department.

How Was 40 Years Old North Vancouver Cyclist? Accident Update

Officers were on their way to another incident when they came across the collision scene and found the woman with “serious injuries” according to Mounties.

The victim was identified as a 40-year-old woman from North Vancouver and police were still attempting to reach her next of kin.

“Officers responded quickly to save the cyclist’s life. “Unfortunately she was declared deceased by medical personnel a short time later” Const. Mansoor Sahak said.

The truck driver stayed on the scene and is assisting authorities. The North Vancouver RCMP traffic section and the Integrated Collision Analyst Reconstruction Service are still looking into the incident’s cause.

The accident occurred about a block away from the new Harry Jerome leisure complex which is under construction. Drivers are urged to take alternate routes such as St. Georges Avenue or Chesterfield Avenue.

The North Vancouver Police Department’s traffic section and the Integrated Crash Analyst Reconstruction Service are still on the scene near Centennial Theatre.

The northbound lane on Lonsdale Avenue is still blocked until further notice according to North Vancouver Police.

Police are presently investigating the cause of the crash according to Sahak. He went on to say that the dump vehicle was turning right from 23rd Street north onto Lonsdale Avenue when the accident happened.

 North Vancouver Cyclist Killed Case Update And Arrest

The North Vancouver RCMP are looking for witnesses and dash-cam footage to assist them in their investigation of a fatal collision between a cyclist and a commercial truck.

The collision occurred shortly before 10:30 a.m. on Monday near the intersection of Lonsdale Avenue and 23rd Street in North Vancouver.

The cyclist has been recognized as a 40-year-old man from North Vancouver. Authorities are informing the deceased’s next of kin.

North Vancouver Cyclist Killed

The driver of the commercial vehicle stayed on the scene and cooperated with investigators. The reason for the collision is still being investigated.

“The pedestrian died at the site,” said Const. Nicole Braithwaite of the West Vancouver Police Department. “This is a terrible incident involving an elderly man and West Vancouver Police are currently concerned about the family.”

The West Vancouver Police Department has requested help from the RCMP’s Crash Analysis and Reconstruction Service which has shut down the roadway while they conduct their investigation.

According to Braithwaite, it is too early to tell what happened in the collision but the driver was in a large flatbed truck.
