Rachel Briers is a renowned American meteorologist who currently works at ABC13 in Houston, Texas, since joining the station in December 2018. Prior to joining ABC13, she was the chief meteorologist at KWES in Midland, Texas. While there, she covered all of West Texas’ weather, including heavy hail, tornadoes, and severe winter storms.
She discovered her passion for the weather at a very young age. Her grandparents were big farmers and the weather was an everyday issue at the dinner table. She followed in her parents’ footsteps and enrolled at Texas A&M University, where she majored in Atmospheric Science, as well as meeting her future husband at the University. While in college, Rachel interned at WFAA in Dallas and KBTX in College Station.
Rachel went to West Texas immediately after college to begin her meteorology career in Lubbock. While there, she worked at KLBK in Lubbock as a weekday weatherman and co-host of Trends & Friends.
