Kevin Harned is an American meteorologist who currently serves as the chief meteorologist at WAVE 3. He joined the station in June 1998. He attended and graduated from Purdue University with a Bachelor of Science in Synoptic Meteorology in 1998.
Harned began his career at WAVE 3 in June 1998. He has worked with the best meteorologists in the region: Tom Wills and John Belski, Kevin’s mentor and many others. He was promoted to his current role as Chief Meteorologist in September 2010.
During his time, he was one of the youngest members of the American Meteorological Society to receive the AMS Television Broadcast Seal of Approval. He hosted WAVE 3 Listens, filled the anchor desk and even provided breaking news. Currently, it can be viewed weeknights at 5pm, 5:30pm, 6pm, 7pm and 11pm.
