Sarah Bloom is an American Award-winning journalist who currently serves as the morning news anchor for NBC12 News Today. She also hosts the Fox Richmond morning news and works on the RVAParenting blog, where she talks with experts on issues important to local families in the community. Prior to joining NBC12 News, Sarah served as an anchor and reporter at WSET in Lynchburg, VA.
Bloom was born in Iowa and graduated from Washington and Lee University in Lexington with degrees in Journalism and Sociology. Prior to joining NBC 12, she worked for stations in Danville and West Virginia.
Sarah started her journalist career as an intern at the CNN newsroom in New York. Immediately after her graduation, she joined WOAY in West Virginia, working as a reporter and weekend anchor. After gaining experience, she moved to WSET in Lynchburg, VA, where she worked as a reporter and news anchor.
Additionally, Sarah worked with Andrew Freiden, the meteorologist, and Ryan Nobles while in Virginia. She currently serves as the morning news anchor for NBC12 News Today and also a news anchor on the Fox Richmond morning news.
When not working, Bloom enjoys running, swimming, exploring the great outdoors, as well as spending time with her family at children’s activities.
