Brant Miller is an American meteorologist who currently serves as the chief meteorologist for WMAQ-TV in Chicago, a television station owned by NBC. At WMAQ-TV, he is the weatherman for NBC 5 News at 5pm, 6pm and 10pm. Furthermore, he joined the station in 1991.
Most notably, he began his meteorological career as a meteorologist at FOX32 in 1989. As a private pilot, he integrated his expertise in aviation weather and meteorological studies at Mississippi State University and Portland State University. Miller has obtained the American Meteorology Society Seal of Approval and advanced Certified Broadcast Meteorologist. In addition, it holds the National Weather Association’s Seal of Approval for its television and radio forecasts.
In addition to television weather forecasting, he has been entertaining radio audiences for over 25 years. He DJed at WLS-AM/WLS-FM for over a decade before switching to full-time television. Even before WLS, he was heard on KINS, KIMN, KLIF, and WPGC.
Throughout his career, he has received many awards and nominations. He received the Illinois Broadcasters Association’s First Place Silver Dome award for the best television weather segment. Miller also won the Chicago Emmy for a weather special: “The StormTrackers.”
