Amber was born and raised in Speedway, Indiana, USA, and is so proud to be a Sparkplug! Working as a broadcast weatherman in Indianapolis is a dream come true as it has been her dream since third grade. She is excited to join the team and predict the weather in her hometown. Prior to joining FOX 59, Amber was a meteorologist for the WLFI in West Lafayette, Indiana.
When she was young, Hardwick was terrified of storms. However, over time, her fear turned into a lifelong passion. she answered Ball State University, graduating with a bachelor’s degree in operational meteorology and climatology. She was a member of the executive board of the Ball State Storm Chae team and also attended a storm chasing summer course. The class consisted of chasing heavy storms across the Great Plains for nearly two weeks.
