Working for the Southeastern Channel at Southeastern Louisiana University gave Boone his start both behind and in front of the camera, where he honed and developed a passion for storytelling. He was allowed to cover all major Southeast sports during his time there.
Additionally, the Louisiana Association of Broadcasters named Wesley Collegiate Louisiana Broadcaster of the Year in 2018, making him the first winner in strictly sports coverage.
