Christiansen’s journalistic career began when she was still in college when she had the chance to intern at WMBD-TV in Peoria, Illinois. In 1997, she started working as an Account Executive at KOLD-TV. A few years later, in July 2000, she was promoted to co-anchor of News 13 This Morning, and this marked her first on-camera entry as a meteorologist for News 13 at Noon.
Erin then joined the KOLD 13 team where, until May 2006, she was the morning weather forecaster. In 2006, Erin joined KGUN 9 Squadron, where she was Chief Meteorologist until August 2018, when she left for WPEC CBS 12 in West Palm Beach, Florida to become Chief Meteorologist.
