Aaron Maybin biography
Aaron Maybin is an experienced American journalist who currently covers breaking news, features and general assignments for FOX6 News. He joined the station in 2018. Maybin went to Oak Creek High School and then graduated from Marquette University with a BA in Journalism.
During his time at FOX6, Maybin reported on the release of vaccines, the COVID-19 pandemic, and the protests following the death of George Floyd. He also played a key role in covering the Kyle Rittenhouse murder trial and the Waukesha Christmas Parade disaster.
Aaron’s writing and in-depth field reports won him over 7 Emmy nominations. In 2021, the Wisconsin Broadcasters Association honored him with Best Onsite Live Reporting.
Prior to joining FOX6 News, Maybin worked as a reporter and anchor on WCSC-TV in Charleston, South Carolina. While there, he followed big stories like the federal trial of Emanuel AME Church shooter Dylann Roof; South Carolina’s “1000 Year” Flood; and hurricanes Irma and Matthew. He also interviewed First Lady Jill Biden.
Plus, Maybin loves to give back by helping student journalists get their foot in the door. He is a member of Marquette University’s Student Media Council. In her spare time, you can find Maybin speaking at local schools, running, volunteering and enjoying the great outdoors.
Additionally, Maybin is a member of the National Association of Black Journalists and was a board member of the Wisconsin Black Media Association. He is actively involved in Marquette’s mentoring program as well as the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
