Jackson Proskow is a Canadian journalist who currently serves as the Washington bureau chief for the Global Television Network. His career has taken him from earthquake-ravaged Nepal to flooding in southern Albert, to hurricane relief missions in the Caribbean and even to the royal wedding.
Born in Calgary, Albert, he attended and graduated from the University of Calgary. He later attended the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology (SAIT). Mike is one of the few who started his career at a young age. At the age of 16, he started his career at Shaw TV. He was hired by Global Television as a cameraman and anchor in Lethbridge in June 2004.
In September 2005, he joined CHCH-TV in Hamilton, Ontario. A year later, he joined Global Toronto in January 2006. Mike moved to Washington in August 2014. During his tenure as City Hall reporter for Global Toronto, he covered the turmoil surrounding Mayor Rob Ford. His reporting won him several awards. One of which is an Edward R. Murrow Award for his investigation into safety issues on Toronto’s Gardiner Expressway.
