Biography of Alberto Lati
Alberto Lati Mercado is a Mexican journalist and writer. Lati currently works for Fox Sports and hosts a show called Agenda Fox Sports and Latitude Fox. Early on, he worked for Televisa as a sports reporter.
Alberto was born and raised in Mexico City, Mexico. He attended middle and high school at Colegio Hebreo Tarbut in Mexico City. He subsequently enrolled at the Universidad Iberoamericana, where he majored in Communication Sciences. Lati started his work at Televisa as a sports reporter at the age of 17. In 2000 he was sent to Belgium to cover the Euro. He later worked as a correspondent in preparations for the 2002 Football World Cup in Tokyo. In addition, he has worked as a correspondent in many countries such as Spain, Greece, Munich, Beijing and Johannesburg for the 2010 Football World Cup and the 2012 London Olympics in Rio.
In addition, Alberto also covered several editions such as the Super Bowl, Eurocopa, Copa Libertadores, World Series and UEFA Champions League finals. In July 2021, Lati was announced as a UNHCR Goodwill Ambassador for Mexico. That same year, Lati became a member of HYPIA, the International Association of Hyperpolyglots. Additionally, he received an Outstanding Journalist Award at the World Knowledge Summit 2021 with an Honorary Doctorate. He collaborates with UNHCR on the #ConLosRefugiados 3 campaign for World Refugee Day.
Due to his interest in studying multiple languages, he speaks Spanish, Hebrew, English, French, Italian, Russian, and Japanese, among others.
