Darby Stanchfield is an American actress recognized for portraying the role of Abby Whelan in the ABC drama series called Scandal. She is also widely recognized for playing the role of Nina Key in a 2020 Netflix fantasy TV series called Lock & Key. Darby even played the role of April Green in a CBS post-apocalyptic drama series called Jericho. She has also played numerous roles in movies and TV series such as Fixing Pete, Loserville, Willie and Me and Finding Hope.
Stanchfield was born and raised in the small town of Kodiak, Alaska. She grew up as an outspoken and charming little girl who doted on her parents. Darby also moved away from Dutch Harbor before finally settling on Mercer Island near Seattle, Washington. She finished high school in her hometown and went to college. Darby then earned a degree in Communication with Minors in Theater from the University of Puget Sound in 1993. She also honed her acting skills at the American Conservatory Theater in San Fransisco, California.
Stanchfield began acting in the early 2000s. She made her on-screen acting debut appearing in a CBS drama called Diagnosis: Murder.
