Myers became interested in weather after several tornadoes and blizzards hit his hometown of Kansas City. The 2013 Moore EF5 Tornado disaster left a particularly wild impression on him. In 2015, he moved to Texas, where he chased tornadoes and covered severe weather and flooding.
Before graduating, Collin had his first job and moved back to northeast Kansas after being exposed by a network TV station that caught him.
