Alan Carter biography
Alan Carter is a Canadian journalist who currently serves as an anchor for Global Toronto’s flagship news program, Global News at 5:30 and 6 pm since 2015. He also hosts Focus Ontario and is the host of The Alan Carter Radio Program in Toronto.
Talking about his background, he attended and graduated from Ryerson University in 1989. After graduating, she started her journalist career as an anchor and producer for CKVU in Vancouver. Here, he covered the 1994 Stanley Cup playoff riots and was tear-gassed alongside unruly protesters, all in the name of getting the story.
In 1997, he moved to Edmonton, where he anchored the A-Channel News. After a while, he moved to Toronto in 1999 to join the Global Toronto team as a crime reporter. Fortunately, in 2003, he moved to daytime television on the Morning News and later became managing director of Global Toronto.
He continues to pursue his passion for politics by hosting the weekly public affairs program Focus, Ontario. Alan can also be heard weekdays at noon at 640 Toronto, CHML in Hamilton and CFPL in London. When he’s off duty, he loves exploring Ontario’s great outdoors. He also loves biking and snowboarding.
