Alex Wood is a Major League Baseball (MLB) player currently pitching for the Los Angeles Dodgers. He made it to the MLB in 2012 after being selected by the Atlanta Braves. Before he made it into the MLB, Wood had certainly paid off his debt with a great college career, which he achieved with the Georgia Bulldogs baseball team. After his selection in 2012, the big shot has continued to impress and set good records in the process. Here is a breakdown of how far he has gone and how he achieved it.

Alex Wood’s Biography

The Dodgers’ man was born Robert Alexander Wood on January 12, 1991, in Charlotte, North Carolina, where he was raised by his parents, Richard Wood and Carol Wood. Since he started playing at a very early age, it was his mother who drove him to all his exercises and games, and she always supported him whether he performed or not. His father was just as supportive but only gave him positive reinforcement when his son played exceptionally well.

His mother grew up as the daughter of a former basketball player in a family of athletes. Although she knew next to nothing about baseball until she realized that her son had a passion for baseball at a young age, she made it one of the most important things in her life and even learned almost all the basics to help her son succeed.

Just two months later, he made it to the Major League and debuted on the same promotion night with his family, who watched him eagerly as he played against the Toronto Blue Jays in a game that saw him throw the ninth inning.

He continued playing for the Braves until 2015 when he was transferred to the Los Angeles Dodgers in a three-team deal that also involved the Miami Marlins. In the Dodgers, he continued to play in good form and made the leap to the All-Star Team in 2017.

At that time both Alex and Suzanna Villarreal were students at the University of Georgia. Shortly after they were introduced, Alex handed a slice of pizza to the woman who would later become his wife. From then on they became casual friends but were never really close.
