While playing for the Alabama soccer team, Amari Cooper broke the 62-year-old record for Alabama set by Alfred Lary by scoring 11 touchdowns in his first year. He also recorded 59 receptions for 1,000 reception hotels in 14 games. At the end of the season, Cooper was appointed to the SEC’s All-Freshman team by the league coaches, and he also earned the consensus award “Freshman All-American”.

Professional Career
Amari Cooper was selected by the Oakland Raiders as the 4th overall candidate in the 2015 NFL draft. On September 13, 2015, he made his professional debut for the Raiders against the Cincinnati Bengals. Although the Raiders lost 33 – 13 against the Bengals, Amari pulled 5 receptions with 47 receptions behind him. He also set a new record for franchise newcomers with more than 100 receptions and 72 receptions in five games. At the end of his rookie year, Cooper was called to the Pro Bowl along with his teammates Latavius Murray and Derek Carr.
