Amelia Jones biography
Amelia Jones is a veteran American journalist who has currently worked as a reporter at FOX6 News since October 2020. Jones joined FOX6 from NBC15 News in Madison, where she served as a morning reporter. In 2020, she received an award from the Wisconsin Broadcasters Association for ‘Best Live Reporting on the Scene’.
Amelia is a proud graduate of Marquette University, where she majored in journalism and digital media and minor French. During her time at the University, Amelia interned at six television stations; three in Milwaukee, FOX6, CBS58 and Milwaukee Neighborhood News Service, and two in Minnesota: KARE-11 in Minneapolis and KTTC-TV in Rochester and PBS Wisconsin based in Madison.
Furthermore, she was involved in Marquette University Television Station as a news anchor, reporter and assistant executive producer. Her outstanding work was recognized with a Collegiate Emmy nomination and she received an award from the Wisconsin Broadcasters Association for ‘Outstanding News Writing’ for her coverage of the mumps outbreak in Marquette.
During her senior year, Amelia worked as an investigative reporter while interning at PBS Wisconsin on the ‘Purple River Project’ covering the change of political affiliation in rural Wisconsin cities from Democrat to Republican in the 2016 election. Marquette University Cheerleaders, a member of Sigma Kappa and Marquette University’s Lamda Pi Eta Communications Honor Society.
Originally from Kansas City, Jones is a die-hard Chiefs fan. She has called Wisconsin home since her graduation in 2018. She landed her first job in Madison as a reporter for the Morning News on NBC15.
