Andrew Perez is an American journalist who currently serves as the weekend news anchor on the 5:00 pm, 6:00 pm, and 11:00 pm newscasts of WPLG Channel 10 News. Perez joined Local 10 News in May 2014 after spending three years at Fox’s Mobile Marketplace affiliate, Alabama-Pensacola, Florida, WALA-TV.
At WALA-TV, Andrew led WALA’s primetime newscast as a general investigative reporter and deputy anchor. For his work, Perez won an ABBY Award for his series about missing mother Brittney Wood. Additionally, he recounted the April 27 Tornadoes, the Carnival Triumph’s return to Mobile, and the hostage situation in Midland City.
Prior to joining WALA, Andrew worked behind the scenes in Miami and also performed at WABC-TV in New York, where he studied. Andrew has returned home after spending three unforgettable years at WALA-TV, Fox’s affiliate in the Mobile, Alabama-Pensacola, Florida market.
