Anthony Ramos is an American actor and singer who originated the dual roles of John Laurens and Philip Hamilton in the Broadway musical Hamilton. He appeared in the 2021 film version of In the Heights as Usnavi and in the 2018 film A Star Is Born as Ramon.
He even received a Primetime Emmy Award nomination for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Limited Series or Movie for his performance in the live taping of Hamilton on Disney+. Ramos is slated to star in Transformers: Rise of the Beasts in 2023. Born in Brooklyn, New York, he attended Halsey Junior High School.
While there, he performed Motown songs at school assemblies in a student group called the Haley Trio. He later attended New Utrecht High School, graduating in 2009. After high school, Anthony attended the American Musical and Dramatic Academy. He graduated in 2011.

In September 2016, it was announced that he had been cast in She’s Gotta Have It as Mars Blackmon. He also played the role of Ramon in A Star Is Born, starring Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper. In 2018, he reported that he was cast as Usanvi de la Vega in the film adaptation of In the Heights. In February 2022, he was cast in a pivotal role in the upcoming superhero streaming series Ironheart.
