Bogdan Bogdanovic joins a long line of Serbian basketball players who were allowed to play in the NBA. Bogdan Bogdanovic is a Serbian basketball player who plays as a shooting guard for the Sacramento Kings in the National Basketball Association. When Bogdan signed with the Sacramento Kings in the summer of 2017, he became the highest-paid rookie in the history of the NBA, and there was a wave of enthusiasm about who exactly he was that made the Kings take such a step. We look at his career and how he got to where he is now.

Bogdan Bogdanovic’s Bio, Age

Bogdan Bogdanovic was born on August 18, 1992, in Belgrade, Serbia, FR Yugoslavia. He started his career as a player with a local team in Belgrade called KK Zvezdara. Later he switched to another team from Belgrade, then known as Alimenti Basket. With them, he reached third place in the Serbian Junior League in 2009-10. He was just 18 years old when he signed his first professional semesters with Partizan Belgrade.

The beginning of his career was hard for Bogdan as he didn’t have much playing time, but in the summer of 2012, when Partizan Belgrade was reunited with coach Dusko Vujosevic, Bogdan started playing more again. This happened after almost two years in the shadow of Bogdan. In the 2012-13 season, he made his Euroleague debut with Partizan and scored an average of 5 points and 1.8 rebounds per game in 6 matches.

In the 2013-14 season, Bogdan started to improve a bit. He was appointed to the Serbian national team. Back with Partizan in a Euroleague match against CSKA Moscow he scored 27 points in his career and helped his team to victory.

In the ABA League Bogdanovic scored a career highlight against Cibona with 32 points, to which were added 4 rebounds and 5 assists. At the end of the Euroleague season, he had an average of 14.8 points, 3.7 assists, and 3.7 rebounds per game. He was elected Rising Star of the Euroleague and was accepted into the Ideal Team of the ABA League. The team also won the Serbian league title that year.

After Belgrade failed to qualify for the Euroleague in 2014, Bogdanovic decided to join the Turkish team Fernabache. At the end of his first season with Fernabache, the team finished fourth in the Euroleague. Bogdan Bogdanovic averaged 10.6 points, 2.8 assists, and 2.9 rebounds per game in the Euroleague and 11.6 points, 2.4 assists, and 3.1 rebounds in the Turkish league. He was elected Rising Star of the Euroleague for the second time in a row.

In his next season, he scored an average of 11.7 points, 3.3 rebounds, and 3 assists in 28 matches in the Euroleague. Fernabache reached the Euroleague Final Four but lost to CSKA Moscow. They won the Turkish League, however.

The 2016-17 season began with a sprain in Bogdanovic’s right ankle, and although the damage was initially considered minimal, the injury kept him away until the turn of the year. Upon his return to the side, he put in a series of top-class performances in which Fernabache won the first-ever Euroleague championship by defeating Olympiacos.

The Turkish team also won the second consecutive Turkish League Championship this season. On June 23, 2016, the Sacramento Kings acquired the rights for Bogdan from the Phoenix Suns, who had previously selected him with the 27th overall selection in the 2014 NBA Draft.

Bogdanovic signed with the Kings for the 2017-18 season, averaging 11.8 points, 3.3 assists, and 2.9 rebounds in 78 games.

Bogdanovic. Bogdan has no brother known to the media. Contrary to speculation that he is related to his NBA colleague Bojan Bogdanovic, the two stars, although they have exactly the same last name and very similar first names, are not brothers.

Bojan Bogdanovic, who was born on April 18, 1989, is from Croatia, while Bogdan is from Serbia. However, the couple met on the pitch when the Kings competed against the Indiana Pacers (which Bojan joined in 2017) in the 2017-18 season.
