Chantal Janzen is a Dutch actress, singer and TV presenter. As a presenter, she is known for co-hosting Eurovision: Europe Shine a Light and the Eurovision Song Contest 2021. Jansen is also famous for starring in films and appearing in musical productions such as Beauty and the Beast, Wicked and Tarzan. Furthermore, she was born and raised in tegelen, netherlands
She attended and graduated from HAVO in Tegelen and later she studied musical and jazz dance at the Hogeschool voor de Kunsten in Amsterdam. While at school, she joined the Jazzcool dance troupe, where she performed in several stage plays. After that, she appeared in several TV shows like De Band, Meiden van De Wit and Kinderen Geen Bezwaar. Furthermore, Janzen also works as a presenter for the Dutch version of Idols and Staatsloterij Live.
On film, she has starred in several films, including Deuce Bigalow: European Gigolo, Volle Maan, Alles is Liefde, Kicks, and the TV movie Loverboy. As a singer, Chantal released her first single in 2002 called “Achter De Sterren”. That same year, she won the John Kraaijkamp Musical Award. She next appeared in a supporting role in the musical Crazy For You, for which she won the Music Award. In 2010, she went on to be featured in the musical Petticoat as well as the musical Wicked. She later signed with RTL after her contract with Dutch TV AVRO ended. A year later, Chantal appeared in a small role in Goede Tijden, slechte tijden, in which she reprized her role from the same series in 2019.
From 2015 to 2016, she worked as a presenter in Germany on Superkid and The Voice Kids. Furthermore, she also hosted several shows such as Everybody Dance Now, Time To Dance, and The Voice of Holland among others. Furthermore, Janzen joined the “Wall of the World” in the American television show The World’s Best in 2019. Later that year, she served as a presenter alongside Edsilia Rombley and Jan Smit in the show called Eurovision Song Contest 2020 in Rotterdam . However, the show had to be canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic and was replaced by Eurovision: Europe Shine a Light.
