Cindy Farmer is a renowned American Emmy Award-winning journalist and television personality who currently serves as a midday anchor on WGHP-TV, FOX 8 News. Before moving to FOX 8 News, she was a reporter for the Good Evening Show on WFMY. Farmer works alongside Julie Grant, Kerry Charles and Brad James.
A native of Virginia, Cindy began her career in Roanoke, Virginia on WSLS TV 10 while still a student. Immediately after graduation, she moved from Blacksburg to Roanoke and worked full-time for TV 10. In August 1990, Farmer joined the Good Evening Show in Greensboro, based at WFMY Studios.
When the show was canceled in 1992, Cindy became part of the News 2 team of reporters. In 1997, she joined FOX* News after the birth of her firstborn and has been with the station for over 20 years, anchoring FOX 8. Morning and Noon News and reporting each week on “What’s Right With Our Schools.”
Cindy has won several awards, including an Emmy for Community Service, the Susan G. Komen Lifetime Volunteer Achievement Award, the Susan G. Komen Founders Award, the Howard Coble Citizenship Award, and the USTA Grady Elmore Award for contributions to tennis.
