Coleen Christie is a Canadian television anchor with nearly twenty years of experience behind the anchor desk. She presents Global News at noon and regularly fills in on Global News at 5, News Hour at 6, and Global National. Christie joined the Global BC News team in 2017.
Previously, she anchored on CTV Vancouver and the CTV network. She has covered several major breaking news events live. She was also a well-known broadcaster of the Vancouver Olympics for CTV. Coleen played a significant role in the broadcast team that won the coveted Edward R. Murrow Award for overall excellence in producing the best newscast in history.
Additionally, Coleen is a speaker on a variety of topics, including modern news consumption and its effects on society, and an alumnus of TEDx Vancouver. Christie says she is passionate about journalism and its importance to our society. Like democracy, it tries to protect journalism, which is vital to our freedom.
