Dan Roan is an American journalist who currently works as a weekday sports anchor for WGN Evening News at Five and Six and WGN News and Nine. He joined the WGN-TV Sports team in February 1984 and has worn many hats on WGN. Dan began his career in 1977 at WCIA-TV in Champaign, Illinois, where he was a sports director for seven years.
A native of Keokuk, Iowa, Roan graduated from Illinois State University in 1976. Dan presents Instant Replay, WGN’s expanded vision of weekend sports on Sundays at 9:40 pm. In addition, he hosted and co-produced the pre-game and halftime show for WGN’s NBA and Major League Baseball broadcasts.
