Tumulty received his bachelor’s degree in psychology from Liverpool University and his Masters in Broadcast Journalism at University of Sheffield, England.
Prior to joining WGN-TV, she spent two and a half years reporting for KUTV in Salt Lake City, Utah. She also reported on the News 12 Network in New York for several years and worked as a producer at KTVT in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. She began her career as a reporter in Ireland, where she was born and raised.
Tumulty also worked as D CEO Intern Editor for D Magazine for three months, a reporter for Northern Sound Radio in Monaghan, Ireland, and a reporter for Border Region Television in Border Counties Ireland. She also worked at BBC News’ broadcasting and production unit in London, UK for two months.
