Biography of David Jeremiah
Bishop David Jeremiah is Senior Pastor of Shadow Mountain Community Church and founder and host of Turning Point for God. The turning point is a radio and television evangelism ministry founded by David. Shadow Mountain Community is a Southern Baptist megachurch in El Cajon, California, a suburb of San Diego.
David was born to his father James T. Jeremiah, a Baptist minister and past president of Cedarville University. He then entered Cedarville University in 1963 to earn a bachelor’s degree, and later, in 1967, he went to Dallas Theological Seminary to earn a master’s degree. In 1981, Cedarville University presented him with an honorary Doctor of Divinity degree.
David became Senior Pastor of Blackhawk Baptist Church in Fort Wayne Indiana in 1969, where he served for 12 years before moving to California in 1981. After his move, David succeeded Tim LaHaye as Senior Pastor of Shadow Mountain Community Church. His leadership brought him to the point of affiliation with the Southern Baptist Convention.
Additionally, in 1982, Jeremiah founded Turning Point Ministries, which focuses on multimedia Bible broadcasts. His debut show is Turning Point, a half-hour radio show that broadcasts Jeremiah’s sermons. Since then, David has won numerous awards over the years through the Turning Point program.

These awards include the 2006 National Religious Broadcasters Award for Best Radio Teaching Program. In 2000, Turning Point Ministries also developed a national television program. This program features a 30-minute Bible study followed by an hour of preaching and worship music.
As of today, Turning Point can be heard broadcasting on over 2,000 stations. His radio show is available to over 480 million listeners in several countries around the world. On the other hand, Turning Point television reaches more than 2.7 billion homes worldwide.
Turning Point has just released a Spanish edition, Momento Decissivo, which is now available in all countries with a Spanish-speaking population.
