Dr. Deborah Birx is an American physician and diplomat who currently serves as the United States Global AIDS Coordinator for Presidents Barrack Barack Obama and Donald Trump since 2004.
Since the 2020 Coronavirus outbreak, Birx has served as the Coronavirus Response Coordinator for the White House Coronavirus Task Force. Deborah is an expert in HIV/AIDS immunology, vaccine research and global health. In addition, she was responsible for the President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief Program in 65 countries, supporting HIV/AIDS treatment and prevention programs.
Deborah was born in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, and later attended Lampeter-Strasburg High School. Between 1980-1994, Birx was working as an active-reserve officer in the United States Army. She immediately took on a role as a regular army on active duty, rising to the rank of colonel.

From 2005 to 2014, he served as director of the Global Division of HIV/AIDS (DGHA) at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. This is part of the agency’s Center for Global Health.
