Eliott Rodriguez is an American journalist who currently serves as an anchor on CBS4 News at 5pm, 6pm, 7pm and 11pm. He has received two Emmy Awards and four Edward R. Murrow Awards.
Rodrigues participated in the University of Miami, where he graduated from the class of 1978 with a BA in Communication. Furthermore, she is a member of the Iron Arrow Honor Society.
After graduating, he began his journalistic career as a reporter at The Miami News before becoming a reporter at WTVJ-Channel 4. After 2 years and 6 months, he left Channel 4 for a reporting job at WPVI-TV in Philadelphia. . It anchored the morning news on WPVI-TV. In 1987, he returned to Miami to take up a position as weekend co-anchor and general assignment reporter. This was in WPLG-Channel 10.
He later appeared in the 1996 movie “Up Close and Personal”. He played the role of a television reporter. Furthermore, he joined WFOR-TV (CBS4) in Miami in 1999, where he served as the lead news anchor and host of the weekly public affairs show 4Sunday Morning.
In January 2008, he was replaced by Antonio Mora as main anchor. He went to the noon and 5:30 pm news. In December 2012, Antonio’s contract was not renewed and Rodriguez returned to the 5, 6, and 11-day news.
